Our School Day | Reception to Year 6
School Drop Off

Our school gates are open between 8:40am and 8:50am and we operate a one-way system through the main pupil gate on Dunsham Lane and out of the back playground gate on Lansdowne Way.

Reception, KS1 and KS2 children should arrive between 8:40am and 8:50am.  Please note the school gates close promptly at 8:50am and if you arrive after this time you will need to sign in via the school office.  


Registration

Morning Registration is at 8:50am and Afternoon Registration is at 1:15pm. 

School Pick Up

Our school gates are open between 3:20pm and 3:30pm and we operate a one-way system through the main pupil gate on Dunsham Lane and out of the back playground gate on Lansdowne Way.  

Reception, KS1 and KS2 children should be collected between 3:20pm and 3:30pm (Year 5 and 6 pupils may walk home alone if signed parental permission has been given).

We currently have a morning two year old Nursery class; which provides a fifteen spaces for funded two year olds. 

Our two year old Nursery pupils enter and exit the school via the main gate and are dropped off between 8:40 and 8:50am in line with pupils in Reception to Year 6.  They are collected promptly at 11:40 by the main school gate.

We have two Nursery classes for three and four year olds, which cater for children in receipt of the fifteen hours funding.

Nursery pupils should arrive promptly at 8:30am or 12:30pm to ensure pupils are settled into their session and staff can start the learning activities promptly.  Parents should arrive promptly at 11:30am or 3:30pm to collect their child.  

  • Morning Nursery | 8:30 am to 11:30am
  • Afternoon Nursery | 12:30pm to 3:30pm

Nursery pupils enter and exit the school via their own entrance way which is on the far side of Elmhurst Family Centre. 

A range of assemblies take place throughout the week; these sometimes take place in the hall and sometimes take place as class assemblies.  Assemblies focus on the following: school values, vision, rules and expectations; topical events happening in the world today including festivals; singing and celebration.  

Lunches are staggered and take place in the main school hall and in the dining hall. 

  • Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 | 11:30 - 12:30
  • Year 3 to Year 6 | 12:00 - 13:00

Hot meals are available for all children in Reception to Year 6 and children who opt for these are seated in the dining hall.

Packed lunches are seated in the main school hall and in the warmer months will picnic outside on the picnic benches. 

We also have some children who find larger spaces overwhelming and these children have their lunch in a separate smaller provision in the Learning Hub.  

We run a number of after school clubs for pupils in KS1 and KS2 each term which include a wide variety of sporting, craft and cookery clubs.  Clubs are offered to pupils in our reception classes from the summer term.  Clubs usually run from 3:20pm to 4:15pm and some after school clubs (e.g. cookery) are subject to a small charge.  

The school week equates to 32.5 hours/week.  Our compulsory school times for pupils in Reception to Year 6 are 8:50am to 3:20pm.
