School Vision & Values

Vision

Our three-year vision for Elmhurst School is:

To be an innovative and leading school.  Empowering and enabling our children to achieve their full potential, be successful citizens of the world we live in and be prepared for the next stage of their education.

Our School Values at Elmhurst are:

  • Aspire | Limitless potential is possible for all learners; aim high and achieve your dreams; compete with the best and be the leaders of the future.
  • Create | Creativity is key in the ever-changing world; express and be creative in all areas of your life.
  • Think | Being thoughtful.  Being creative thinkers and problem solvers.

Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain.  Children are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

  • democracy
  • rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

We teach and celebrate our school values and British Values through school assemblies, Learning for Life lessons, through our fundraising efforts and links with the local community and regularly within the classroom and in home learning especially through Project Guerrilla.
